The Resources, Environment, and Economics Center for Studies, Inc. (REECS) is an all-Filipino private consulting firm duly registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission since 1992.

The Firm traces its roots to the Environmental and Natural Resources Accounting Project, the pioneering venture in 1991 that laid the groundwork for institutionalizing the use of accounting for economically viable natural resource-based services. Through its founding members, REECS has since then stamped a niche in resource and agricultural economics, environment, natural resources management, policy studies, and capacity building, all anchored on participatory and multi-stakeholder approach.

In its 25th year in operation, REECS has grown into an established and widely recognized consulting firm. Keeping pace with today’s challenges and global goals, REECS has expanded its horizon and included in its expertise impact assessments of water and rural sanitation initiatives; climate change vulnerability, adaptation, and mitigation at the community, local governance, and national policy levels; and public health and social development engagements. REECS is also now well versed in diverse fields such as design and development of economic instruments, conservation finance, ecosystem services valuation, and market studies. We implement innovative tools in our research designs such as extended benefit-cost analysis, risk analysis, rapid social assessments, and total and participatory economic valuation.
